My son loves trains. We have a small track with several trains. Anyone recommend any train sets that we can improve on? Or anything related to trains and cars?

He also loves puzzles...?

And books. Big reader. Anyone recommend any good books for a 3 year old? I put the same request up here last year for his birthday and got so many fantastic responses.

Thanks

Last christmas my DS got a Thomas book and there was a plastic playmat and a load of plastic figures in the back. He loved it. Have seen in tesco's, its only about a fiver

my nephew has the Thomas train set bits and bobs with motorised trains and some non-mechanical ones..you can add to track set, buy bridges and buildings, move onto setting points etc..it is great! Am getting same for my son (2.7) this yr! Books...the Julia Donaldson ones remain a favourite..gruffalo etc.

My ds loves trains and he's got a big jigs train set. It's wooden and totally fab. We've added to it bit by bit and he loves it.
They do all manner of bridges and bits to add to it and we've had great fun building tracks that go around the whole downstairs floor!
My step son 12 and nephew 8 both love it too, although the type of tracks they build are very adventurous Smile
