Standing in cot

My Ds is 7 months old and has just learnt to stand in his cot! This is when I leave the room. Which then he gets unsteady and falls! Poor little man will hit his head. Has any one got any ideas how to stop him standing?

To be honest, I wouldn't try to stop him. My wee lad (17 months) still falls over and bumps his head in his cot (although it's now because he's bouncing around like a lunatic rather than just learning to stand). Yes, he fell over a lot when he first learnt to stand in there and yes, he bumped his head, cried and was comforted - but it never put him off and he'd get up to the same mischief no matter what I did I think (compared to some of his more recent stunts, I'll quite happily take a few bumps in his cot to be honest - between falling backwards off beds and sofas and going headfirst down stairs, I've aged 10 years in the last few months Grin).

In all honesty, unless he caught his jaw when he was teething, I don't think it ever hurt him, just gave him a fright. There seems to be a fair bit of 'give' in the bars of our cot - assume most cots are the same.

I've read that some people will put little ones in a sleeping bag then tuck the end of it under the mattress or if they're under covers rather than a sleeping bag, tuck them in tightly, to try and restrain them a bit. Not sure if it works, but thought I'd chuck it in as an idea!

Do you use a Gro bag....quite good for would be tiny escapees!
