Baby won't stop crying!

I don't know what's wrong, I keep getting him to sleep then he wakes up crying his eyes out after 20 minutes Sad

He isn't normally like this! He's been fed and changed, seems tired but keeps waking up after 20 minutes and crying.

Cuddling him doesn't help, dummy doesn't help, no idea what else I can do!

How old is he? Presume you have taken temperature? Try not to worry.

WhatABeautifulPussy · 30/10/2013 19:25

How old? Does he seem in pain? Teeth? Tummy?

MamaPingu · 30/10/2013 19:26

He's 8 weeks on Friday, temp normal yeah.

He's screaming now bless him, don't have a clue what's wrong!! :(

He's not pulling his legs up or anything so I don't think it's tummy related

He does have reflux but it doesn't seem like his reflux

Could be colic. Is this the first time. If it is infacol helps.
I also found putting in a baby carrier & going out in the fresh air. You do get weird looks taking a baby out in the dark

123bucklemyshoe · 30/10/2013 19:31

Mine never pulled up legs with colic. Are you bfeeding?

SpookyTeacakes · 30/10/2013 19:35

We had the odd night of this with ds. It's truly awful. When he's crying have you tried tiger in a tree hold?

With ds nothing worked (sorry) but he did eventually drop off and he only did it a few times.

LondonNinja · 30/10/2013 19:36

Could it be an ear infection?

WhatABeautifulPussy · 30/10/2013 19:38

It could be reflux. I wondered from the timing. Try propping the head of the cot/Moses basket up or going out with him in a sling if you have one.

MamaPingu · 30/10/2013 19:40

I just tiger in a treed him and he was quiet instantly! But now he's crying again haha Sad

Just thought, I started with a swollen throat last night. Could he be poorly cause I am!

Try bathing him. The warm water may soothe him.
Most babies have nights like this from time to time. You just have to grin and bear it Hmm. Lots of cuddles.

redcaryellowcar · 30/10/2013 19:45

I don't have any idea what it could be, sorry, but just wanted to say hope he feels better soon, think in same situation I would be tempted to call out of hours doctors, even if just to get a check on what they think you should do, he is very little and they should trust your instincts on this not being normal.

123bucklemyshoe · 30/10/2013 19:46

Probably.......keep an eye in him & if need be take him to the oohs Dr. Sorry if this seems obvious to you- you sound v sensible.

MamaPingu · 30/10/2013 19:47

He just fell asleep the second I stood up with him! I don't get it :S

Thanks for the support from everyone EnvyThanks

Yep....mine did....

missorinoco · 30/10/2013 19:55

These are the witching hours. Mine used to do this anytime between 7 and 10. I got used to pacing round a room with the radio on.
It was a phase though, and passed with all of them.
Hope you get some rest.

Ditto missorinoco

My freind ,to take hers out in the pram even during the night I witnessed it myself and was quite amazed she said its the.
Only thing that works to get him off and still asleep when she got home it's surely worth a try ...........!
