How do I stop my 5 year old sucking her thumb before she gets big teeth? Any ideas?

Stop and Grow? My 4 year old dgs asked for this as he wanted to stop thumb sucking but he decided he liked the taste so it didn't work!

My dentist put a magic ring on my sons thumb which stopped him sucking his thumb completely. He was about five at the time. We took the ring off after a week or so and he never sucked his thumb again.
