Angry wake ups from 2.5 yr old

My DS wakes up angry....not just grumpy but Incredible Hulk angry. He hates everyone and everything and my normally placid and smiley boy screams like a child possessed. He will lie on the floor refusing everything and just screeching! After about 15/20 mins he is back to his normal self. This sound familiar to anyone???

Yep. My DS3 is like this on the rare occasion he has an afternoon kip. I put a drink and a snack next to him as he stirs (normally nods off on the sofa) and retreat to a safe distance until he calms down! Like your little munchkin, 15-20 minutes later, its like it never happened!

marking my place because DS 2.8 has just started doing this again and I've no idea what to make of it..I don't even think he's in control of it - I try and calm him down he screams louder, I ignore him for a bit he screams louder. Will try the snack idea but honestly what my neighbours must think this past couple of weeks
