Think the question sums it up! Is it normal?

How on earth would we know?

LadyBumps · 27/10/2013 22:51

Mine often does. Couldn't possibly comment on all the others Grin

RhondaJean · 27/10/2013 22:52

Isn't there a theory about this is why men spend so long pooing when they are older, something prostate related?

RhondaJean · 27/10/2013 22:53

I have no boys sorry.

bundaberg · 27/10/2013 22:53

erm... nope

PacificDogwood · 27/10/2013 22:54

Not mine.

They seem to get them on all sorts of other occasions though...

ChippingInNeedsANYFUCKER · 27/10/2013 22:54

All the little ones I have known have. My friend's son has just started potty training - she was Shock and asked me if it was normal, I assured her it was :)

ChippingInNeedsANYFUCKER · 27/10/2013 22:57

Oh - but, I think they grow out of it at about 3 (or maybe just the ones I've known?!). So maybe some people who haven't seen it, potty trained later? Not sure about that though. I haven't seen older boys do it and I've had to take a lot of them to the toilet & wiped many a bum!

I can't say ^^ for sure though, but amongst 2 year olds it's very common.

Mouth · 27/10/2013 23:00

Mine get them, they're only quite young. I've always just taken it for granted that all boys must get the same. Then for some reason, I suddenly thought about it and wondered whether it was normal or not. it's not the sort of thing people talk about.... ! Thanks for answers

I have 3 boys all potty trained at about 2 and have never seen this although if they strain then their penis does move up a bit.
It doesn't strike me as something to be concerned about tho, just never seen it with my lot!

ktef · 28/10/2013 06:12

Three boys here, oldest gets one, middle son doesn't, youngest still in nappies so am yet to discover!

Jaffakake · 28/10/2013 17:18

This all cracks me up! I have no idea about penises, not having one myself & having only seen 2 close up. I had to ask my hubby if ds will need to wipe at all when he sits down to pee! I feel so silly!

Timk · 04/06/2016 16:21

Most of them should do, especially if it is a solid stool. This is due to the stool pressing on the prostate gland as it passes out of the rectum.

macoronicheese2015 · 08/06/2016 11:03

Perfectly normal haha it's the fact their tract is small and short at the age any pressure like a poo builds the blood flow too do it my 6 year old is the same

couchparsnip · 12/06/2016 21:23

DS did sometimes at 2ish. Maybe that's where Freud got the idea for the 'anal stage' of child development!

Out2pasture · 13/06/2016 04:00

yes occasionally like others said depends on a few conditions (straining) etc.
