teething molars - when does it get better?!

My DD is 11.5 months. In the last 10 days or so she has cut all four of her year 1 molars. One is through quite well, the other three just cut the surface so I can feel a sharp bit. Now, she has been pretty hideous with these; grumpy, clingy, tired, not sleeping as well as she can. She hasn't been much better today, despite the last one cutting.

My question is, really, should her mood improve now?! I'm not sure, because I realise the molars are wider teeth so have they got more gum-cutting to do? I'm not sure I can take much more of a such a grump...! Grateful for some experienced parents to let me know how long this could go on!

I have to admit it did feel like my dd was teething forever! She certainly suffered until 18 months. Sorry. We tried everything! I do remember thinking 'this can't go on for much longer, surely?" Baby nurofen got us through.

aha thanks sarah was she an early teether? My poor DD got her first tooth at 13 weeks and has carried on non-stop ever since. I think she has so far been teething since she was born!

I believe that it's only meant to last a few days after you can see the tooth break through.

DS ignores this tho and seems to teeth for ever! (17m now and cutting about 6 at once arrrgh!)

aw heidi poor little chap. Seriously, I think teething is my number one hate! As she's teethed on the early side I'm hoping that eventually it'll be over for me earlier that average!!

I can only sympathetize because I'm in the same crappy boat. Feeling v. Bored of it now. Only 4 more to go now and ds is only 16 months!
