At what age could your DC use a mouse?

That's it really... DD is very dextrous when it comes to knowing her way around my iPhone, but if I were to get her one of those mini mouses (mice?) to plug into the laptop, I wonder how quickly she'd pick it up. I can't imagine she'd be too far off. Hmm She's 2.9. Thanks!

She'll pick it up quickly I'm sure. We only has a laptop (no mouse) when DD was that age but she had no issues using the mouse at preschool.

This year in foundation/reception I'm noticing far more of the children can't use a mouse, more than in the past.
They automatically trying to touch the screen instead or some try moving their finger round the bottom of the keyboard.
iPads and tablets effect must be kicking in.

Oh that's encouraging, thanks! She loves the CBeebies app and as brilliant as it is, there's not that much to it. I think she'd get far more out of the website itself.

Interesting, Hulababy. It's almost like we've gone full circle in a way - that swiping action you see in chimps!

Our kid has been able to use a mouse since she was 15 months old, however, I don't think that means she's able to understand mouse functions. She can click, but she doesn't know what she's clicking.
