Two lots of teeth - any ideas?

I posted a couple of weeks ago about my 6 year old nephew who keeps chewing everything. My sister says she has just discovered that his second lot of teeth are coming in behind his baby teeth at the bottom of his mouth (with no sign of the baby teeth being wobbly yet). She is taking him to the dentist, but wondered if anyone had experienced this before. What happened? How did it effect the child and could this have been the cause of him chewing everything before?

Has happened to my children. When the baby teeth fall out the adult teeth move into the correct place.

My DD (6) has an adult tooth growing behind one of her baby teeth and no sign of that one coming out (although she's lost a couple of others). Mentioned it to the dentist, who said nothing to worry about, will probably sort itself out, and in any case, they wouldn't do anything about braces etc until she was about 12 or 13. HTH.

Happened to DS who is 5. We took him to the dentist to be safe but he said it was fine. His baby teeth were pushed out at all angles and eventually the front two dropped out.
