If she is not asleep, or for very brief periods when she is interested by something new, she is crying or whining. If we go for a walk, for example, it is interesting for 5, max 10 minutes before she starts crying again. Toys, if someone plays with her, are interesting for about the same amount of time. Mealtimes ditto, she has one bite of everything then starts crying and throwing herself out of the highchair. If you have her on your knee she'll cry to be on the floor and if you put her down she'll cry to get back up. I have put her down for three naps today, she seems to need them, but won't go to sleep if we're out anywhere. It's driving me barmy. Mealtimes are being ruined, she cries in the car, she cries if we go out or I stop moving in a shop etc, she just doesn't ever seem to be happy for more than 5-10 minutes without starting to scream again. I swear I'm losing my hearing. I've been hanging on thinking phase, phase, phase, but it's been a good number of weeks now and she's just miserable. No illness and she is the same even if I give her meds, which I have done once or twice to rule out teeth. Help appreciated, I'm losing my marbles.

Hi there,
I wish I knew the answer but my 12 month old is currently very similar. I recently started back at work & he has just started nursery & is also much more unsettled at night too & screaming at full volume if we don't get him up. I think it must be all the change that is currently going on.

I think he is also close to walking which might be making him frustrated. Is your daughter walking yet? Could it be this..?

I know it's not much help, but I thought it might be of some comfort to know that someone else is in the same boat!! If he is still like his by the end of the week I think I'll take him to the docs just to rule anything out that I might have missed...
I really hope it gets better soon - for both of us!
