Help! My DD is now 2.5weeks old and i have had the day from hell. She has practically been awake for 14 hours with about 1 hours sleep during the day. She's been fed, changed, bathed, nappy changed, rocked, played on a jungle gym and nothing seems to be settling her enough to sleep. Am bottle feeding as bf was getting me down. When she does sleep in the nihjt she goes 1.5-2 hours a time but nothing close to this today. Im tired, exhausted and at he end of my tether! Any advice would be grately appreciated just to get any sleep.:-(

She's probably cluster feeding - keep offering her milk - it's normal just about now.

Poor you! It is hard but it does get better. It could be that she's over tired by the time you're trying to get her to sleep and sometimes once they've got that second wind you've had it! Ideally when they are that teeny, you should be trying to get them back to sleep within an hour of waking up.

Have you got a sling? That way at least you can go about your business while they get the comfort of being close to you.

Do you like to read? I found lying on the sofa reading my own grown up books aloud to my DD was really relaxing, good bonding time and she'd sometimes doze off.

Also, dancing to music (grown up music) with her in my arms used to get her to sleep when she was teeny.

Does she sleep in the pram? Fresh air will do you both good and you can have a rest on a bench once she's sound asleep.
