Biting!

I have 12.5 month old twin girls and recently (the last week or so) the younger twin has been trying to bite her sister. She has succeeded once :( and we understandably had a lot of tears.

I have to watch her carefully and just tend to remove her from a potential biting situation with a calm 'no'. Obviously I can't watch them all the time. Yesterday, the biter bit me on my hip while I was sat on the floor cuddling her sister. She is the more dominant twin and also likes to be cuddled and around me a lot more than her independent sister. I really don't think the biting is intentional, I think she gets carried away and then bites.

Any advice? Shall I just keep doing what I am doing and pray it is a short lived phase?

Yes just carry on saying a clear no. If you find its not working you could try removing her from the situation and ignoring her for a few minutes. E.g if you are holding her and she bits put her down after saying a clear firm no then distract yourself for a bit.

Hopefully she'll click soon enough that she shouldn't bit. You could also rub the area and say ow!

You may want to check she isn't teething to!
