I was up satirs putting the last of the washing away and they want to go in the garden again.

I reapply suncream, hats etc etc

Ds1 comes in for the loo and says next door are in their garden having BBQ.

Oh very nice, I smell was making me retch thats another story....

Ds2 goes out there a few minutes later. I came down to check Ds3 wasn't getting up to any mischief to find 5yr old DS2 throwing ping pong ball size stones over the fence directly where neighbours are having their BBQ!!!!!

He knew they were sitting there because the garden is split in two as the house is 2 flats and he's nosed into their garden more than once from his bedroom window.

Massicve great stones thrown with a huge great lob over the fence.

I can only hope and pray that none of them hit anyone.

Honestly I could wring his neck....I could not believe what I saw when that stone went flying in the air over the fence....

He's now banned from the garden all weekend.

Throwing seems to be a real boy thing - my 2 have done the same. I was out one evening last week and DH was in charge. Neighbour caught them lobbing rocks into her garden, and into the ones behind. Luckily we get on really well - her grandchildren are at school and nursery with my dses - so she came round with a bucket and asked dses to pick them all up. Which they did, rather quietly.

It hasn't stopped them, though, and I have to watch them like a hawk when they're outside. They've had toys taken away, smacked bottoms (yes), straight-to-beds, but the throwing attraction is just too great.

It does have to be said that there is something really satisfying in a good, straight, long throw - not that I'd let them know that, of course!

Oh, and ds1 threw water bombs from a party-bag over the other side fence, straight onto 3 little girls on a trampoline. He hadn't remembered that they'd been to the same party as him the day before, and they'd had water-bombs too, so they just lobbed some back at him. Which made him cry as he got wet.

Still hasn't stopped him, though.
