Need help finding a book/story that can teach that naughty people

...although it seems get it all...well they don't! In the long run they don't.

Little one keeps talking about naughty/troublesome boys at school doing less work, getting more incentive rewards, more help by teaches etc and it really upsets him

Need to find a way to explain he is getting the fun work, he will gain by being better behaved etc...though diff to explain when naughty boys get iPads, rewards, star of week etc and he doesn't!

A picture books would be ideal!!! Any ideas.....

That sounds like the schools problem - and you should be teaching him to play up at being more naughty in school to get the extra attention?

What do you mean "naughty boys" getting ipads? You probably mean boys with learning difficulties who NEED ipads to learn in the best way possible.

Star of the week is usually done in birthday order...ask the teacher about that one...as for a book about naughty people, I don't think that's what you need. You need to explain to DS that some children find reading and writing and numbers much more difficult than he does and as such they need more help.

And help him to empathise rather than feel jealous.

Maybe you need to let the teacher know that he's feeling like his consistent good behaviour is going unnoticed and unrewarded.

A good teacher will reward those whose behaviour is consistently good alongside those who really need support to improve. Maybe it's time for a reminder.

My DD2's reception teacher selected two children each week for stars in the end of week assembly. There were 18 in the class. My DD's behaviour was always lovely apparently and she produced consistently good work. We were told this at every parents' evening and chat with the teacher. Her report was lovely.

However she didn't get a star. Not one in a whole year and she was acutely aware that others received a lot.

Children can be taught that we are not all the same, a child in my dc's class has a 'fiddly thing' he is allowed to have during carpet time. It provides the right amount of background physical stimulation for him to sit and listen otherwise he finds the whole sitting still thing too much. My son understands this and just accepts that some children need more support/encouragement to thrive at school. I've explained that as we grow we need less and less praise as we learn to be happy with our efforts. And that some children take much longer to learn that internal praise. I think you're better of taking this sort of stance on it rather than using labels like 'naughty' which are unhelpful and unfair.

But best thing would be to enjoy supporting him in all kinds of learning so that it isnt hard work and ge enjoys it.

Thank you sooo much..yes good behaviour going unnoticed.....and starting to affect my child's confidence severely. All be mentioned to teacher but loving the book suggestions..Noddy!!! That sounds very promising!
