Colic or reflux?

Hi,

A close friend of mine has a one month old who she says has colic and is giving infacol to him, which helps with burping a bit. He vomits quite a lot after feeds etc and just generally, and she hasn't found that making him sleep upright is really helping.

She's knackered so I gave her a hand yesterday with feeding. I noticed he arches his back alot and cries during feeds and gets off the bottle. I've got a LO with silent reflux which was diagnosed very late so I've been there, done that. Whilst I held him to me it just felt like reflux but then I thought maybe I'm just thinking that because my LO had that and I'm so relieved it was finally diagnosed! I hate to see her little LO in what appears to be pain and so much discomfort. I did mention to her if she'd taken her to the docs or tried gaviscon but she dismissed it and said it was just gas. I don't know whether I should mention to her that it may be reflux (as in gord)? I know so early on is a sensitive time and as a mum you really don't want your baby to be on medication or be labelled as having an 'illness'.
