tips for settling 17 mo in toddler bed

DD is just 17 months old but will be going into a toddler bed very soon as she almost climbed out her cot today - i caught her just in time. She doesnt have a bumper that she could have climbed on she is just super tall for her age!

So before i do so, does anyone have any tips on what worked well for them and what helped DC's settle for the first few nights?

I need to get a bed guard first then i will convert her cot.

Try putting cot matrass on the floor with guard 1st. Then take her out too Mother care or toy r us as a special treat too try out and buy herself
as she is a big girl. and needs a big bed.
