My 21 month old has turned into a sleep shocker.
Having been brilliant since birth (I know smug) she was ill about 3 weeks ago and since then everything has gone to pot.
When we put her down she know stands up in cot and shouts which when ignored turns into screaming - if we sit with her she does eventually go to sleep but I do not want this to become a habit & besides my evenings are short enough anyway. This has also happened with some lunchtime sleeps.
The worst though is the early mornings - anything from 4.45 until 5.30 she just screams very loudly and we can't ignore her because she wakes our other daughter up. We have tried lying next to her cot - didn't work and also bringing her into our bed - disaster.
The problem is that she is wide awake and not even grumpy ever during the day but we need our sleep and now for the 1st time she screamed during the night - I feel a slippery slope!
Any advice please .... Btw controlled crying resulted in her almost being sick and in the morning impossible because of other child!!
Xx

Sit with her until she gets used to faking asleep quickly then you can do gradual withdrawal.

Is she teething?

Falling not faking!

My 23 month old is like this , he has molars coming and we haven't had a good night sleep in two weeks , could it be the pesky teeth ?

Thanks - funny enough her bottom was red raw this morning so teething it could be but if it is does it sometimes only materialise at night as she is absolutely fine during the day?

During the day they're distracted from if but at night there's nothing to take ther minds off. That's the theory.
