Getting 2 year old to sleep through the night

My DS who is nearly 2 years old, still wakes for a bottle of milk in the night. As soon as he has this bottle, he goes straight back to sleep. No fussing or nursing him. He always wakes between 2-3am. I know this is a habit, as he eats more than enough during the day, so he shouldnt be hungry. We have tried waterring down the milk, and last night we swapped the bottle for a beaker. I know he shouldnt have a bottle at this age, but this is the only drink of the day which is given to him in a bottle. Anyway swapping the bottle for a beaker was not very successful. Any ideas anybody on how to try and break this habit?
