He can be in the middle of doing something and suddenly stops and lets out an ear piercing scream. His favourite place is in the car, which can be a little distracting. How can I stop him from doing it??

scream back

My DS will do used to do that and still does occasionally. I think he does it to get to me. I find ignoring it worked well in the car. He eventually would stop. Not much help, I know.

Jazzi, the best bet is to ignore it because if he's anything like my dd he's using it to get attention/get a reaction. If he doesn't he might eventually just stop.

I did the 'scream back' once that jamsambam suggested [bad mother alert] as I was very tired and very on edge, never again though, dd went into hysterics! Saying that she did scream less after that.
