Crying for attention

My ds who is 2 1/2 is great most of the time but whenever he plays with other children he cries when he doesnt get his way or they take toys. How can I prevent these crying episodes as they are only to get what he wants. Any tips greatly appreciated

Ignore, maybe? dd is 2.5 and has days when she cries every time she doesn't get her own way. She's little, its hard still (hell, its hard in your forties!) - I don't tell her off for it, just don't pay much attention till she stops. Hopefully, like so much else, it will pass

Maybe try taking him away from the situation (ie outside) and explain that he can't play with the others until he stops?
