My ds was 2 in April and he sleeps in a cot bed. Today we are going to buy him a bed guard and take off one side of his cot as I am now 5 months pregnant and findng it hard to put him in and take him out of his cot. Hes a great little sleeper and just wondered wether it was worth putting a pilow into his bed! Any ideas?

wouldn't bother unless he asks - but if you want to sell the "big boy" bed idea, then it might reinforce the message i suppose. I started off all 3 of my eldest with a very slim nursery size pillow (John Lewis?) when they were little. Mind you ds3 is 2.5 and still sleeps in his cotbed with the sides up and no pillow. I don't want him wandering around noisily at ungodly times in the morning !

Yeah thats what I thought. Dont have to worry about mornings too much because he has to older brothers he shares a room with and hell join them in bed

Mine has had a slim pillow since 12 months, which we introduced when she had colds and a bunged up nose...she liked it for a while, but these days sleeps in her big girl bed (with guard, she's 2.5) without a pillow. If I put one in, she throws it out - so I wouldn't bother unless he asks either!
