Feeding routine

Hi all, I just needed some advice, my son is 6 and a half weeks old and I am currently demand feeding him, he usually feeds roughly every hour about 70ml, except at night during which he has 70-90ml a feed every 3 hours. My questions are 1. Do the feed amounts sound typical of a 6/7 week old baby? 2. Also is it to soon to try and introduce day feeds every 3 hours instead of every hour which he is currently wanting? 3. How do i distract him from wanting to feed every hour? 4. Making him wait won't harm him will it? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

You might like to ask for this to be moved to breast and bottle feeding where there are lots of knowledgeable people on this kind of thing.

I've never ff but the nhs advice is to feed on demand regardless of how you're feeding. So personally I would follow his cues. He's still tiny and his stomach is about the size of his fist so there's not much room to tank up Smile www.nhs.uk/Conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pages/infant-formula-questions.aspx Most babies space out their feeds themselves when they're a bit older.
