Teething and bleeding gums

My DS is 13 months and has 6 teeth. He is really miserable at the moment- drooly, red cheeks and obviously in a lot of discomfort. I think he has two more top teeth coming through. I am a bit concerned that his top gums are bleeding a bit. I noticed it yesterday when he was eating lunch and today when he was just playing. Has anyone else noticed this with their babies/ toddlers?

DD's did a bit when she ate some bread. There was screaming, a fair bit of blood and then a few minutes later she was happy. A little while later I saw she had a new tooth through.

I have had an awful time with teething of my DS. His front teeth/incisors were bad enough, but with the molars we have had eruption haematoma's (google images for this) and also one tooth which caused a whole section of gum to be pushed out of what looked like a hole, surrounded by blood, which bled lots when it was knocked off and caused him enormous pain. All normal (if less common) apparently. Was a total shock to me as my now 4yr DD didn't have a single issue with any of her teeth - often we missed that a new one had arrived! I think we will be having a party to celebrate when all his teeth are through - 12 down 8 to go at the moment!

Hope your DS is feeling better soon Buga x

Oh no Pippy that sounds awful! He seems a little less grumpy today and no bleeding in nursery- fingers crossed we will see a couple of new teeth soon. Thanks for the responses.

My DS's gums bled, think it's normal when they're coming through. His teeth are perfect now.
