Hello everyone,
My daughter is almost 10 months and in the next few weeks I'm returning to uni to finish my last year.
Ill be at uni 3 days, of which my partner is looking after her mostly as he works part time. However two afternoons a week she will be spending with my mum so he can go to work.
The major issue I'm having is she won't sleep anywhere other than at home in her cot, and when she goes to my mums she's usually due her afternoon nap.
She usually is brilliant at home, wakes up at seven, naps in the late morning, up again, naps in the afternoon then bed for 7.
I've bought a cot for my mums and attempted to make the setup as similar to home as possible. She loves going to my mums but I think she's so excited she can't switch off. At home she has a mobile and a sleeping bag and the room is darkened with black out blinds. I've taken the whole nursery up to my mums to try and help but she won't have it.
I feel it's important for her to get her afternoon nap, otherwise she's very fussy and agitated by the time bed time comes around and she really won't settle. My mums worried if she puts her down and she gets upset she will get upset every time she calls. I haven't used the crying out method and whenever she is put to bed at home it is a case of bottle, bed, mobile on and then I leave her to sleep as she's very good at doing so!
Any advice would be brilliant! It's making me feel very anxious about leaving her as I know by the time I collect her she will be desperately tired. My mum has other commitments at home so can't come to mine and at this point in time I'd rather my mum watch her than anyone else.
Thanks!
