Hi, Im hoping someone can give me some advice on how to help my 5 yr old son to get used to stopping at school without a fuss. Im at my wits end, it upsets me so much to leave him there when he is upset. When he is with me he is so shy, his friends will come to him in the playground and he will hide behind my legs looking at the floor. When he goes into class, they have to sit at their table and read with a parent, but as soon as I have to go he clings on to me and starts crying. When i pick him up he is happy and says he loves school but the next morning is always the same. Anyone got any advice?

Talk to his teacher and see if she can find him an "important" job to do when he arrives. My ds went through a stage like that and his teacher told him that he had to sharpen the pencils when he came in, worked really well and he was fine going in after that.
