One year check...really worried about LO size....

Hi there. I have just had my little man's one year check and I am really worried about his size. He has had a few weight gain concerns at various times (not helped by feeding issues caused by reflux) but he has tracked the 2nd centile for weight for months and I had stopped worrying. But nobody was paying attention to his length/height...when he was measured at the dietician a few months ago his length was n the 0.4 centile and today it was below...he has only grown 0.5 cm in 2 months. Weight still 2nd centile. He is looking tiny compared to other babies now and I am really worried. My husband is prob average height, perhaps a bit below, and I am reasonably tall so I wouldn't expect such a little one. My daughter is bang on average for her age. The lady who did the check wasn't a nurse so is going to speak to the health visitors but I wondered whether to just go straight to GP and ask for a referral. He was seeing the paedetrician for his reflux before and is still on the meds (which I would quite like him off when the reflux was better), so could discuss that with them too.... I am going to obsess about this until we get it checked out I know I am, but I just wondered if anyone else has experienced the same thing?

If you are going to obsess I'd go straight to the go. Make sure you take your red book and insist, if you have to, that the GP weighs and measures him.

Let us know how you get on Smile

Oh and get the GP to check for a urine infection too. Friend's baby was exactly the same and it turned out she'd had a urine infection for months...
