9.5mo enormously grumpy at not crawling

Just a groan really and looking for anyone else who has been through this to tell me that it is a really short phase. My 9.5mo DS simply cannot work out crawling: until recently he was happy to sit and play, reaching for toys etc. Now he refuses refuses refuses to sit and only wants to be walked around on my fingers (rod..own back...I know). On his tummy he just rolls (always to the right - he can't go the other way) onto his back and shouts at me. He's gone from extremely smiley to hugely grumpy and his sleep is going backwards. Gah! How long do I have to ride this out for?!

I am sure its just a phase (one of many!). My little one could still not crawl at 9.5 months but suddenly did it soon after 10 months. That kept in happy for a few months but now he also only wants to walk around holding onto my hands so I feel your pain! Have you got him something he can push along? My little one has one of those push along trolleys with bricks in now and he loves it...it might save your back :). Also- its possible your LO might skip crawling and just go straight to walking....

Aw thanks for the response. His grumpiness plus lack of sleep is just such a grind. Yes, I've got one of those walkers with brick things and also a plastic one - he likes pushing them but I have to offer heavy support as he's still at that stage of walking where he looks like he's just been hitting booze cupboard hard
