I think you need something to distract ds whilst you are putting baby down for naps.
Is there anything he sits down for?
a favourite tv program or DVD that can be specifically for baby's nap time. And only on as long as baby is asleep and he doesn't disturb her.

Or go the other way and get him involved. Eg can you find dds a nappy, can you read her a book etc

6 is old enough to understand (Unless SNs) so would assume that this behaviour is deliberate.

thanks for the reply. It is deliberate I think. Unfortunately he finds nothing as amusing as winding dd up! Perhaps he could play lego while she naps.

I would be pretty strict about this tbh. As pp says, unless SN he really is old enough to know better. Set him up with an activity he likes and then make it clear that he is not to disturb you. If needed impose sanctions if he does (or if you prefer incentivise him not to).

I'd assume he's a bit jealous and promise him some one on one mum time as soon as the baby is asleep - IF he leaves you alone to get the baby to sleep!

I agree baa Lego is great for letting DSes play Grin
