Cranial osteopath

Hi all, I was wondering if any of you had any experiences of cranial osteopaths? My 4 week old finds it very hard to settle at night and sleeps through the day, I was recommended a cranial osteopath as he was also a forceps delivery. We took him, but the osteopath wasn't supporting his head/neck at all whrn doing hrr assessment and when I queried it she said it was fine she even proceeded to lay my son in his back and pull him up just by his arms, neck unsupported, saying that it was all routine and would also be done at his 6 week check up by the gp so wasn't going to harm him. Since the appointment I have been really worried about the impact this may have had on him, esp as the HV and midwife strongly recommend to support a babies neck at all times. Are my concerns justified or are the actions of the osteopath perfectly normal and safe? Any advice or views would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

slowly pulling him up in that manner - yes, they do that check at 6 weeks. (looks awful)

it's yanking him up or letting him "drop" his head backwards when sort of upright or any sudden movements that could potentially cause the brain to shift fast - and that should be avoided.

I can understand that why you feel concerned, I presume it's your first child, so everything is new and scary.
although what you described seemed nothing out of the ordinary, I couldn't possibly comment on his safety/health status as I wasn't there.

was she a registered osteopath? did you go based on word of mouth recommendation? does he seem unwell?

(we have 6 kids, and all of them were checked over at 3 weeks, some needed further treatment for various reasons, so I have some experience, but I'm not a professional)
