I am attempting to sleep train my 1year old. I have kept him in bed with us because he was always up and down and I was exhausted but now it's unbearable. No one gets any sleep and my partner sleeps on the sofa plus I'm 20 weeks pregnant.

He wakes for a bottle several times a night so 2 nights ago I started giving him water he protests for about 40 minutes but eventually goes back to sleep. I tried the Ferber method last week and couldn't do it, he was in such a state. Has anyone tried Tracy Hogg pd/pu method? Was going to try it tonight. Feel awful as I'm taking his bottle n now putting him in his own cot. Thing is when he got up on the morning he didn't even drink his bottle so I know he wasnt hungry, he's a good wee eater during the day too. Helpppp

I personally think pu pd isn't so great esp for older babies... I would prob try gradual retreat?

I found the pu/pd didn't work for us at all. Gradual retreat may work better for you.

Gradual retreat at his age, we had the same issues with our dd, it took a little while but it worked and she is a great sleeper now, 12 hours every night pretty much since 11 months
The baby whisperer book gives a really good description of the whole process.

Never worked for either of my babies. Time is the best cure.
