reckon you're lucky to have escaped this long twiglett. My DS is 2.4 and has been like this for months! He can do proper 'teenager' kicking his heels and sulking (bit like Kevin and Perry) and is a master at the bottom lip quiver. I kind of like it, think it's quite funny.
If it's bothering you then I would just ignore it - the more attention you give the more he will do it.

katierocket's right, most start this much earlier than yours. So maybe it'll be short-lived. I'd try to see the funny side if you can, because it can be quite amusing I believe. (haven't got there yet, dd 16 months).

Mine will start " I want mummy " as he is sitting on my lap. When I point out he's got mummy, then he looks a bit nonplussed, until five minutes later.....

He can even explain how he wanted something, DP refused, he cried and whinged and he got it !! So they do know what they are doing...

yep - our ds has just started doing this - he's just over 2 and the lip goes, big tears well up and all of a sudden it's the end of the world - makes us feel awful..! (well, I think it's a bit funny sometimes but try not to laugh..!). I suppose it's all part of trying out new emotions and playing to the crowd - but not so easy to rationalise when they're howling over something tiny (to us) like where they eat their food/whether they're going to get some sweets etc...
