Hi, I have a little girl who has been in a night time routine since 3 months and apart from teething has always gone to sleep without a problem, however the last 3 weeks she has started playing around at bedtime and not going to sleep. We've tried cry it out which doesn't work. She just cries bloody murder for hours. We've also tried increasing her daytime nap and also cutting it down. None of it seems to work. She's not going to sleep at the moment until earliest 8.30 when before she would be sound asleep by 7pm and sleep through til 7am. I thought it was related to teething but for 3 weeks?! Has anyone been through this? Or got any ideas on what to try?? Thanks very much :-)

Kids do need less sleep as they get older.
Try cutting the time back 15 mins each evening till you get her back to the 7 pm time

Oh I was looking for hints but DS has never been a good sleeper so totally different situation.

He usually sleeps 10pm til 7.30/8am and has a 1 - 2 hour nap but I think hes a particularly non sleepy child.

We have just ordered the story telling cd sleep sleep sleep child by anne rowe (as recommened by a mner) to see if that helps. Has fab reviews on amazon

We still put her to bed at 7pm and leave her to cry it out until she gets in a state and this takes about and hour and a half hence the 8.30 time. How long a nap do your little ones have? DoudousDoor, one of my friend recommended a audio book. Please can you keep me up to date as to whether it works?

Thanks xx
