6 month old doesn't laugh

I've a very smiley 6 month old but have only been able to make her laugh once (a few weeks ago by almost giving her a toy then lifting it up in the air). Nothing since. Nor is she lifting her arms out to be picked up which according to whatever developmental email thing I last read, she should be. Its starting to worry me a little bit - anyone's little one do the same?

My little one is just over 7 months, she does laugh but she doesn't hold her hands up to be picked up. In the last few days she's started to put her arms round me and cuddle me if she's tired. I wouldn't worry, all babies are different and do things in there own time Smile

My DD very rarely laughed as a baby and it used to drive me crackers.
She would laugh at things once and then never again. She was a very happy and smiley baby though.

She is now 21 months and giggles away with the best of them. I guess I just wasn't that funny before Hmm

My 6 month old was hard work to crack a smile from - the only thing that reliably worked was bending over and blowing raspberries on her tummy, as she then ripped my hair out. Laughs were very rare.

Now at 7 months she's far more easy to please and smiles all the time.

My DD is 8 months and doesn't put her arms to be picked up, she does laugh a lot but this has only really developed in the last 4-6 weeks. I wouldn't worry. I always get those emails and think to myself, oh no DD needs to do this now, but she gets there in her own time.

She doesnt sit up either, but I think 6 months might be early for that?

DD was a pretty late sitter up, I felt like everyone else was doing it first. I can't remember exactly but I think she was 8,9 months old before she sat with confidence. She walked quite early though.

On the laughing front, at 18m she's still not much of a laugher. She's a happy baby and I know she is having fun and enjoying herself, but she's just not one for overly laughing too much. At 6mo we had barely got a giggle out of her. Maybe we're just boring Grin Actually, thinking it about, she only really laughs now when she is tired and silly at the end of the day!
