10 month old wont nap

My nearly 10 month old has become a nightmare around napping. For the past couple of weeks she's dropped from two naps to one, but yesterday she only slept for 10 minutes, and today she is so far completely refusing sleep. It's going to be a long day...

I know there's a lot going on developmentally right now, but I thought that most babies don't drop to one nap until 15-18 months? I know they're all different, but surely 9 and 3/4 months is very unusual?

HELP!

DS did this at the same age. He's now 16mo. How does she nap normally? I just used to put him down twice at day at the normal times and leave him for an hour each time in the dark, in his cot with his cuddlies and the white noise on. If he slept, he slept, if he didn't, he didn't. Eventually he settled down and we went back to two reasonable naps a day :-)

DS dropped to one nap a day at 10 months. It's a bit unusual but they are all different.

I also worried about it. I tried giving him a short morning nap as he was exhausted initially but then couldn't get him down again. He's 17 months now and naps reliably from 12-2.

I agree with teacher it's a tough age for sleep.

DS is 14 months and some days doesn't even have one nap.

I don't think it is so unusual.

From about 9 months he only had one late afternoon nap.
