Potty training..and accidents..what's the norm?

My DS has been potty trained for a couple of months. He's been brilliant...until this week. He's started to have at least 1 -2 accidents a day. Usually just says I did a wee, and he's done it on the sofa, for example. At nursery, he did a few.

He's not been 100% this week - under the weather with a cough. Could this be linked?

Is it normal to start having accidents like this? How best to handle it?

Hi - totally normal to have this relapse, and my DS did the same after a few months. Just stay calm, no fuss, and keep going as you have before. A few extra rewards again if needs be!

Him being unwell is probably the reason!

DS3 did exactly the same - he potty trained inside about a week then almost exactly two months later he started having accidents. I tried a star chart - he got a star every time he weed on the potty if he'd kept his pants dry since the last wee, if he got 5 stars he got a chocolate star (the milky way ones) to begin with he was forcing a wee every 20 minutes but the novelty of it wore off and within a week or so he was reliable again without the star chart.
