Dd needs a nappy to do a pooh.

I know this is common and my ds3 even did it too but there seems no end in sight.
Dd is 2.5 and has been dry a little while now but has never done a pooh anywhere but in a nappy.
She knows she needs to go but comes and asks for a nappy. We always try to persuade her to use the toilet or potty but she gets upset and says "noooo"
She is inclined to be a tiny but constipated so I don't want her to start with holding.
I've just gone with it for now but feel that now I may need to think about pushing it a bit or shall I just leave it?

I would just leave it. 2.5 is very young.

Thanks jinty I'm happy to leave her to it but was worried I should be doing something to encourage her.

I resorted to chocolate buttons. Ds did get constipated - didn't seem to bad until he ended up with a fissure so he was reluctant. But we sorted that and he was ok (choc buttons helped, he doesn't need them now!)

We used "poo goes to Pooland". As weird as it is, it worked within a day :)

Is that a book? Or just a concept Grin

It's a story I found on another thread www.ntw.nhs.uk/pic/leaflets/Poo%20Goes%20Home.pdf but DD just clicked with it. So we have "happy poo mummy" when it goes in the loo, and we have to wave bye bye Blush but it worked on Day 2 of toilet training and we are having very few accidents.

I had to tell nursery about Pooland, but they said they'd heard worse Grin
