Ds 5 is a selective mute and I am struggling with his behaviour. He has
High anxiety for everything and makes a fuss over every single thing he is asked to do.

I needed to give him a shower this morning and he refused, after a solid two days of constant whining over everything I lost my temper and screamed at him to get away from me. Then I cried.

I said sorry but I feel awful and am
Clearly not coping with him.

I don't have any advice but just wanted to send hugs. We are all just human and however much we love our ds there are limits to what one can patiently cope with. Can your Health visitor recommend any support for you?

Maybe, we've just moved house yesterday son that had added to the stress. I've never been so horrible to him. He just makes a fuss about every tiny thing, it's exhausting.

I really do sympathise. My ds Can be, em,challenging and he is just a baby. Must be very hard for you. Someone suggested a Facebook group to provide support for me (ds has reflux and food intolerances). Maybe there is something like that for parents of children with selective mutism/ high anxiety.
