fist sucking!

Hi
My 10 week old has been really dribbly for a couple of weeks and has suddenly been doing a lot of fist sucking especially in the last couple of days. Today he has been pretty grumpy and needy!

Everywhere online says possibly teething but maybe not. Does anyone have any advice on how to possibly soothe him or help with the fist sucking? His little chin is getting really red with all the dribbling!

Thanks in advance xx

Hungry?

I don't think so, I am breastfeeding and he has fed quite a lot more often than usual today but after feeding is straight back to dribbling and fist sucking.

Hmm, I'd still go with hungry tbh. At least that was what my kids did around that age and were pacified by feeding.

How many sides is he taking with each feed ATM?

smirnoff861 · 07/08/2013 18:09

It varies to be honest between 1 or 2.

Hi

Watching with interest-my nearly 10 week old is act

smirnoff861 · 07/08/2013 18:37

Although it could be hunger he isn't acting like he is hungry when fist sucking and dribbling. He has a 'hungry cry' which he hasn't been doing

Ooops posted too early!

Acting as you describe (also has little red cheeks from time to time but no temperature) and is chewing on my/DHs fingers (rather than sucking-like she usually does when hungry)

We thought teething too...watching with interest...

I didn't think of teething at all until someone mentioned it! My little one is chewing on the finger as well!
