Is 10 months the shouty stage?

My DD is just over 10mo and can be very, very loud (when happy and not!)....i've chatted in general to a few people and they have said their DC were like this and calmed down by 12mo. Just wondered if its common?

My 9mo ds is so loud! My mum can't believe how noisy he is. I don't remember my 8yo ds being like this, but then I don't remember as much as I thought I would about his baby years.

I'm going to record it for posterity!

Dd found her screech at 4 months and now she's almost 3 she's still very loud.

Dc2 is 10 months, nearly 11, I wouldn't say he is shouty but he likes to babble and screams a bit occasionally. Not loud and eardrum-piercing, but rather low pitched and tolerable. They are finding their voices at this stage, and trying to communicate, its all normal. By 12 months they may be able to utter a few words which should calm down the shouting.

My DS is 10 months and very, very shouty - cute, but shouty. It doesn't stop his 3 year old brother jumping on him...

My almost 9 month is getting very very loud when happy and sad. I could hear him shouting from the other side of tescos yesterday!!!

My DS just hit 6 months and has also 'found his screech'. Ear-splittingly good at it, he is. I came on here to try to find suggestions of how to hurry him through this phase!

Shouty 10 mo here too. He does it with a German accent too

Yes, my DS started getting so loud around this age too. We were told it was a phase that lasts three months around 9-12 months.

He's still pretty loud now though, a year later!
