how can i encourage dd 2.2 from picking her nose? She has picked up this habit from nursery from others and it has become a multiple daily occurance! I say it is yucky and isn't nice for others to see etc but she still does it.....luckily we have had only a few episodes of items being shoved up her nose and this has now stopped! any tips to discourage nose picking please!?!

Heh, you probably cant!

At least she doesn't eat it.

Eating it is preferable to wiping it on the furniture.

Offer her a tissue to help her wipe her nose with, if it bothers you. That should at least encourage the behaviour when you want when she's stuffed up - and she'll save them up until they're big and chewy.

I think just keep saying what you are saying. DS delights in telling us it's yummy - the more we say it's yuk, the more he is delighted so I tend to just say "stop that, it's not nice" and not make a fuss.
DH is horrified as he claims to have NEVER picked his nose. I don't believe him - surely everyone does at some point?!

DS used to wipe his streaming nose on my trousers. At 6yo he still picks and eats.
