Is it age or circumstances?

His dsis is only 4 weeks old. His grandad died 10 days ago and his other grandad has just got out of hospital. To say life has been hectic and stressful is an understatement and now school holidays so all routine has gone.

He sulks he demands good he tantrums. He is very cheeky and threatening to 'kill' me, burn me etc. He's 5 where has this come from. He doesn't watch much TV and no computer games as I don't like the violence associated with them.

What is happening to my little boy?

I should think he's probably had his nose put out of joint by the arrival of his little sister. He's mad that he's not your one and only any more, and is playing up to get your attention.

Of course, the course of action is to reassure him as best as you can....but you must also make it perfectly clear that to threaten to kill you or burn you will not be tolerated, and he will face consequences for his lack of respect. It is not on at all!

So you've got to be tender but tough.
