lopsided crawling

My DS is 10 months and has just started crawling. He prefers to cruise the furniture, so the crawl is only a means to get to the furniture. He has a very unique 'style' of pushing off one foot and pulling the other knee in under him. I think it's just his way - keeping a foot under him means that he can sit bcak down easily at any moment.

But I have read that lopsided crawling can be an indicator of hip problems. Should I get it investigated?

Hi suzi2,
your ds crawl is exactly the same as my dd's up until 2 days ago she crawled that way, But now she has decided to crawl the coventional way, I was worried about it because it looked a bit odd, but she's corrected it herself (although sometimes she does tend to drag helself along). I'd give him a bit of time, bet he'll be walking soon enough!
(My dd is 1 btw)
