6 month old not weight bearing on legs - advice please

Hello, I am a little concerned about my six month old as he will not bear weight on his legs at all. He is in the 91st percentile for height and weight so I was thinking that this may be a cause for him not weight bearing. He is sitting in a tripod position now (but not up straight and unsupported yet) and all his other development is completely on track. My husband thinks I am worrying over nothing but I am a little concerned as my 2 year old did this from around 2 months (but he was a smaller baby especially in height). Should I contact my HV or leave it for a while and try not to stress?

Hi I would try not to stress, my DS was not sitting unsupported or weight bearing at that age either. He did everything late, didn't crawl until ten months and is not walking yet at 15 months but hes just a laid back chap Smile

Im sure everything is fine, but if it will put your mind at rest it wouldn't hurt to mention it to your HV, im sure they get asked questions like this all the time Smile

please don't worry my DD did everything late and didn't weight bear with support til at least 9m she didn't crawl til she was 13m she's 2.2 now and there is no stopping her!

Same here. My nearly 8 m/o doesn't quite sit yet on his own and won't even attempt on put all his weight on his legs, I try standing him and he just bends lol. No rush, eventually they will be all over the place so I'm happy for his to not attempt standing or climbing yet lol. Xx

Much too early to worry.

Neither of mine were even interested in learning they had legs till about 13months! Both fine now :)
