Am I being too harsh to my 3.5 year old?

DC3 has just thrown his tea all over the floor deliberately followed by his orange juice. Not a tantrun, just being silly. We had already talked about having an ice cream with a flake for afters. So I have given the other DC this treat but not DC3. Obviously he is very upset. Am I being too harsh?

No. Fair.

Not long till bedtime Grin

I couldn't let him sit and watch the others eating ice cream.

But I'm a soft touch [no help]

3 year olds can't make deals and stick with them.

I'm with usualsuspect.

Equally split opinions!
Runningonwillpower .. Not sure what you mean by 3 years making deals?
Thanks for opinions tho.

You did the right thing. My DS is about the same age, and I think it's old enough to start learning about consequences. Throwing food and drink on the floor is clearly naughty, so he needs to learn not to do it.

Plus it means more ice cream for you. :)

If you think you have done the right thing, doesn't matter what I think.

I was rubbish at following through with punishments Grin
