He?s been to a couple of parties lately, where they?ve played games such as the one where a blindfolded person sits in the middle, and someone else tries to sneak up and silently steal an object in front of them. My DS loves this game. They also did a ?guess the food? game at school.
Now the summer hols are upon us, he keeps asking me to blindfold him, and make him guess things; food, what object am I putting into his hand, what's on the table, etc. I?m a bit bemused, but I?ve done it once or twice: he grinned from ear to ear when I sent him to fetch a scarf. I thought a couple of games would satisfy his curiosity, but now he keeps saying every day ?will you blindfold me and...? (He doesn't get this fascination from me, I can't even remember when I was blindfolded myself!) I have to keep thinking of challenges for him.
It?s his birthday in late August; we are having a party, and of course he wants a game like Pin the Tail. But then he made the oddest request: while we wrap his presents, could he sit in the room with a blindfold on? (He knows full well that birthday and Christmas presents come from me.) I can?t imagine why he would want this: the only reason I can think of is that he might try to peep, but he loves surprises (and arranging them too), so I don?t think he?d spoil it for himself.
I expect he?ll be bored of this sooner or later (perhaps if I blindfold him and make him wait a long time for something, evil laugh), but does anyone else have any similar experience, or indeed other ideas for keeping him amused in the dark, in case I run out?
