8 month old pinching?!?

Ok this feels silly but I'm really sore and wondering if anyone has any ideas?

My 8 month old has taken to pinching me. Not a problem at first but now she's doing it every time I breast feed, settle her to sleep etc I think it's a comfort thing and she likes the sensation but it flipping hurts!

I've tried distraction, a muslin to play with, soothing hands over hers to encourage gentle touch, a firm NO each time....

This is just a phase right? Has anyone else had this? Man those little fingers are strong now.

My dd 8 months too, always does this, and it blooming hurts- I think it'd just a phase because everything is so interesting to them!!! She squeezes her toys too, and goes all red, but tis quite comical!

Is she pinching your breast while you bf? If so, have a read of Breastfeeding manners.

If you want to distract her, have you tried a nursing necklace? Know some people have had success with them, I managed to get my dd to okay with my earlobe instead Smile

I really liked that link jilted. I use a necklace when put to stop her boob surfing. I might try introducing a fiddle object esp as I want to encourage a transition object as we're moving her into a cot bed tomorrow.

Trouble is the arm that's tucked round me is the pincher. My bingo wings are so sore!

DS has a teddy with a label in its ear - he fiddles with that since he's obsessed with labels. It also then goes to bed with him so he can use it to help go back to sleep (not sure about the success of that second bit!)
