as the title say, I a concerned for my daughter.

she has just turned 5 and was pretty healthy and happy.

recently we have noticed her reluctance to maintain eye contact. she can make it momentarily but cannot keep it. my 3 year old niece will chat to me and keep eye contact.

my daughters attention span is limited except if she gets engrossed in something.

also she barely registers when people talk to her.

but she is clever, bright, has friends, affectionate and if she chooses to talk to you, she will keep eye contact.

am hoping its nothing and she is just going through a weird phase but could it be anything else?

Has her hearing ever been tested?

Hmmm - sorry, no good ideas from me then. I would wait for one of the much more experienced SEN posters to come along then,

Hi. My 6 yr old is exactly the same. He is a very bright sociable boy and is getting on great at school but when adults talks to him I always have to say his name and remind him to look at them. His eye contact is not good but I don't really think it's Nything to worry about, especially if there aren't any other major issues.

DD does this when going through a growth spurt or is very distracted. U know ur DD best if ur worried talk to teacher to see if she does the same at school and ask to see school nurse.
