3.5yo dd is sitting next to me drawing wonderful cats and rabbits swimming in the sea, only they're all upside-down. The sea is at the top of the page and the animals are at the bottom of the page, with clearly upside-down faces. Now she's adding a duck swimming on the sea, and it has ended up the right way round.
Why does she draw upside-down? Until a few months ago all her drawings of faces were upside-down, and partway through she'd turn the page around to complete the drawing. Then she went through a short phase of drawing the faces rotated 90degrees before moving the paper to complete them upright. Now she draws the right way up about 75% oif the time.
Why?
