Heat-loopy toddler. Help!

I just can't get her down in this heat! She's still up and chatting for England at 9pm and it's 25 degrees in her room with the window open. Confused I just know that she won't go to sleep if I try to put her down in our room (which is a bit cooler). She really needs her routine, bless her. Any ideas?

How old?

And how do you know she won't go down? I thought that about dd - well that she wouldnt sleep with the door open to create a draft. But she did and has done the last few nights

She's 2.4, totally overtired (currently playing her ukulele perched on a packet of nappies and singing me Happy Birthday - it's not my birthday). She knows that being in our bed is a massive treat so I can't see her wanting to miss that by sleeping, to be honest.

I guess she'll just drop eventually! Hmm

...have put her on our bed. She's shouting for Mr Maker out the open window.

Same thing here, its too hot for her sleeping bag so I'm wondering of that's it. Has been the same for the last couple of weeks. Late to sleep + and still early to rise = grumpy little madam the next day!

Must be the heat, or the fact that she knows it is still hot and very light outside.

Grin Sounds adorable

25C is cool! Our two DCs rooms are 29/30+. We have fans galore and no PJs. It's the only way.

MiaSparrow · 18/07/2013 21:52

She has her moments. Blimey! 30+ degrees. Eek!

I took her jimjams off only for her to sneak another pair on (backwards) when I wasn't looking.

We live in hot climate so always battle summer but now have aircon in ds room soooooo good! Before that i used fan, also if very hot can drape wet towels or sheets in front of fan to help cool it down... If its really humid not much u can do... I hav a lightweight muslin sleepbag for summer, cant have him in just nappy tho cos he fiddles with the velcro tabs grrr!

Cool bath before bed? Or cool washer over body to help keep cool...?

Ds takes ages to settle of he is too hot esp just after bath...usually take him out for night walk in cool air...if there is any! Yesthe bright evening light is a problem tho.. Can u darken the window? Ds room is like a cave but helps not to have sunlight blaring in thats for sure. I have blackout curtain, blinds, curtains and even painted the window surround with black paint to keep it darker!! Lol!
