I know dc call out in the night for water, toilet, nightmares etc but when did yours stop the 'waking and crying like a baby' business?

10 weeks; bottle fed and slept through soundly. Very rarely wakes; she's now 18 mths. I've been lucky!!! Sure next lo will be terrible sleeper to make up for it.Wink

6.5 months. When he learned to sleep on his tummy - think he sleeps more deeply on his front. Also, by this stage, he had learned to replace his dummy by himself which was a definite factor!!

Also, he was FF but I don't think this made a massive difference. He stopped feeding at night (apart from a dream feed at 10pm) at around 4mo, but he would still wake a few times in the night and need a quick soothing to get back to sleep (we would lay our hands on his tummy and say shhhhh, shhhh a few times and he would go back off).

Have to say he is nearly 8mo now and he will still wake a few times in the night if he is teething or has a cold, but they are now the exceptional nights, rather than the rule.

Dd @ 3years old but she still wakes and cries at least a couple of nights a week.
Ds @ about 6 months but he does wake at 4 or 5 am... Yawn

stopgap · 16/07/2013 00:20

Five months. Two-years-old now and still sleeps twelve hours at night, and two in the afternoon.

stopgap · 16/07/2013 00:21

Oh, and he was EBF until 21 months, but no co-sleeping.

nona2706 · 16/07/2013 00:27

DS1 stopped on the day of his 2nd birthday and DS2 is 11 months and still wakes 3 times a night most nights though its worse in the heat lately as he kicks the blankets off when he is too warm and then wakes up cold. Hmm

Bibblebo · 16/07/2013 00:49

2.5 years old!

MillionPramMiles · 16/07/2013 08:45

My 14 month old still does it a couple of times most nights but most of the time we leave her and she goes back to sleep in a minute or two. (I weaned her at 6 months and saw absolutely no improvement in her sleep whatsoever).
It's taken a long time to get this far though and it didn't happen by itself, we had to leave her to cry for increasing periods.
It's great staying at the gps as the walls of their house are so thick we hardly hear her, I can tell myself she slept right through there :)

HeyMicky · 16/07/2013 08:49

Dropped the 3am feed at 6 months, and the 10pm dream feed at 7 months

DeWe · 16/07/2013 09:20

Dd1 8 weeks.
Dd2 about 18 months after medication was prescribed (wouldn't be nowadays, the stuff isn't allowed. But having had several nights where she was waking at 2am and wanting to go back to sleep about 7am, just before I needed to get dd1 up for school, I was exhausted. Lovely GP prescribed medised (?) and after 2 days of taking 2.5ml, slept all night most nights)
Ds initially 7 weeks. Thought he'd do the same as dd1.
Then he had a bad reaction to his first set of jabs, which set him back, then by 10-12 weeks he started constand ear infections. So he either was in pain from his ears, of he had tummy ache from antibiotics, until he was 20 months when grommets were put in.

bigkidsdidit · 16/07/2013 09:22

6 months

ballroomblitz · 16/07/2013 09:25

ds 6months and still sleeps like the dead at 6yo.

dd 8mo but as she's only 9mo now I'm not counting my chickens she won't go through a sleep regression again as she's a much restless, light sleeper.

moogalicious · 16/07/2013 09:31

Dd1 6 weeks
Ds 13 months
Dd2 3 months

All ff so not sure the feeding method makes much difference.

Kiwiinkits · 17/07/2013 02:44

dd1 3 months
dd2 11 months

BashfulBunny · 17/07/2013 09:51

11 months and the best ds manages is 2 wakes between 7.30pm and 6am on meds. Without meds it's 6-7 wakes per night.
Hoping he grows out of it soon! Hmm

MoelFammau · 17/07/2013 16:16

2 years.

grumpalumpgrumped · 17/07/2013 22:17

ds1 - 2.3years

Ds2 - 6 weeks but only for a week and not again yet 21mths! Little bugger made me think I had it sorted.

BigDomsWife · 18/07/2013 14:55

DD - 3 months - she is now 3.5 years.
DS - 10 weeks - he is 9 months.

I followed the Baby Whisperer by Tracy Hogg. She is a legend.

Belmo · 19/07/2013 22:14

See my 22month old still wakes up for a feed at night, but doesn't cry.
I actually think she's cried at night 5-10 times ever. Co-sleeping though so she did feed a lot but didn't need to properly wake up for it.

miffybun73 · 19/07/2013 22:17

DS - 12 weeks (he's 5 now)

DD - about 18 months. She's 3 now.

Twattergy · 20/07/2013 20:40

22 mo still goes through phases of waking. Stopped bf at nights at 5.5 months but startednight waking again at9 mo and has between inconsistent since then.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 21/07/2013 14:58

DS was the week before he was 5...

JiltedJohnsJulie · 21/07/2013 15:14

Soory pressed post too soon.

His was medical though. I'm sure your Lo will sleep through long before that. My DC2 was much better Smile
